Terms of Service

Last updated — March 2, 2026

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Posthawk ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. These terms apply to all users of the platform, whether self-hosted or using a managed instance.

Description of Service

Posthawk is an open source email infrastructure platform that enables you to send, schedule, receive, and manage email templates through a self-hosted deployment. The platform includes a web dashboard, a worker API, SMTP server capabilities, and integrations with third-party email providers such as AWS SES.

User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Posthawk only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You may not use the Service to:

  • Send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or violate anti-spam laws such as CAN-SPAM or GDPR
  • Transmit any material that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its underlying infrastructure
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems or networks

Intellectual Property

Posthawk is released under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software, subject to the conditions of the MIT License. The Posthawk name, logo, and branding are trademarks of Posthawk and may not be used without prior written permission.

Self-Hosting Responsibilities

When you self-host Posthawk, you are solely responsible for your deployment, including server security, data backups, compliance with applicable laws, and the configuration of third-party services such as email providers and databases. We provide the software as-is and are not responsible for issues arising from your infrastructure or configuration.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Posthawk and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Since Posthawk is self-hosted, termination of a managed account does not affect your ability to run your own instance of the open source software.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
